The State Railway Administration is active in the various work institutions of the European Commission. The State Railway Administration has engaged in the activities of the European Railway Agency (ERA), the International Railway Cooperation Council (OSJD), the UN and other international organisations.

The institution shall regularly participate in the development of regulatory enactments of Latvia and the European Union. Similarly, it is often necessary to assume functions which are not directly within the competence of the State Railway Administration, but which are very important from a public interest point of view in the railway sector.

Specialists of the State Railway Administration shall act in the working groups of different international organisations:

Cooperation in collecting railway market monitoring statistics data within European Union

The State Railway Administration fulfills the obligations set for the Member States in the Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2015/1100 (July 7, 2015) on the reporting obligation of the Member States within the framework of railway market monitoring (RMMS), by collecting and providing the European Commission with statistical data on railway market monitoring.

In addition, in cooperation with IRG-Rail ― Independent Regulators’ Group - Rail, the State Railway Administration collects statistical data received from railway undertakings and infrastructure manager and submit the annual Railway market monitoring report from Latvia.

The aforementioned statistical data are included and made public, respectively, in the RMMS report prepared by the European Commission's Mobility and Transport Directorate and the IRG-Rail Market Monitoring Report. The aforementioned public statistical reports are available here:
